It's up and cracking along
02 March 2011

Despite the heavy snow in the early part of the winter the job is going well. The overhead electricity cables were put underground in December. The main structure is up. Slates, recovered Welsh, are going on. The stone gable from stone recovered from the original ruin is going up. Internally the floor insulation and plumbing is down. The under floor heating pipework is going down.

The boreholes for the geothermal installation have been drilled to a depth of 90M.

The next stage is to pore the internal screed over the underfloor heating pipework and then the geothermal pump needs connecting up.

Here are some photos taken yesterday:

Access road break through
11 August 2010

Since last writing we can drive through on the access road, albeit it is very rough. To date we have put in about 220T of building rubble (recycling) all from a site only 2 miles away so reducing road miles.

With regards to the ruin it is being dismantled. Most of the gable is now down. Though I have run out of used pallets from local sources and space to put them so it is going in 1 T bags.

Here is a photo of just before the highest bit of the gable came down.
